Schengen 90/180 day counter

The day you enter and the day you leave both count as a day of presence — that is how this tool counts.
Three things this counter does not tell you
- The 90/180 rule applies only to visa-free entry or short-stay visas. If you hold a residence permit or a long-stay visa from a member state, your time is counted differently and this counter is not built for that case.
- The 180-day window rolls day by day, not year by year. Every new day drops an old one out of the window, so the number of days left changes daily even when you do not travel at all.
- Having days left does not guarantee entry. Border officers also look at the purpose of the trip, funds, insurance and proof of accommodation. In the other direction, overstaying is a breach and can lead to a later entry ban.
For your own case, ask the competent authority of the country concerned, your own country's diplomatic mission, or a lawyer.

Note it cuts both ways: Ireland and Cyprus are European Union members but not in Schengen; Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein are in Schengen but not in the European Union.
